A dry, mild winter followed by a cool early spring accompanied the vines through budbreak. April brought frequent rains that proved crucial for the rest of the season, while in May, temperatures were above seasonal averages. A significant daily temperature range around harvest time ensured the wines' fragrance and freshness.
It has an intense, deep ruby red color. The nose is rich with aromas of wild berries, plum, and tobacco. The palate is enveloping and structured, supported by an elegant freshness.
Structured and elegant, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano pairs well with rich, flavorful traditional Italian dishes, such as meat-based dishes, red meats, and aged cheeses. It also makes an excellent meditation wine thanks to its tannic structure and aromatic complexity.
