Production philosophy and sustainability

Pioneers of sustainability

Cecchi’s production philosophy stems from listening to nature and from the commitment to enhance the distinctive traits of each grape variety, vintage after vintage, in the vineyard and in the cellar.
Respect for the environment has accompanied the Cecchi family for generations: reducing environmental impact, preserving natural resources and safeguarding agricultural landscapes are goals pursued with vision and consistency.

As early as the 1990s, Cecchi was the first Tuscan winery to install a wetland system for wastewater treatment, later replicated at tenuta Val delle Rose, which received the Toscana Ecoefficient recognition.
Today there are three active systems, confirming an ongoing commitment to a virtuous and responsible production model.

In 2021, the conversion to organic farming of the Val delle Rose and Tenuta Alzatura vineyards was completed - an achievement that reflects a sustainable, future-oriented vision rooted in the family’s values.

In 2023 we obtained Equalitas certification for our sustainability management system. To learn more, you can request the Equalitas Sustainability Report at cecchi@cecchi.net.
