History

Love for the land
and for wine since 1893

ORIGINS

In 1893 Luigi Cecchi, a wine enthusiast and expert taster, laid the foundations for a dynasty devoted to quality viticulture. From the outset, attention to detail and love for the territory distinguished the family’s production, making Cecchi wines an expression of elegance and authenticity.

INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION

As early as the 1930s, with the second generation, the Cecchi brand crossed national borders, gaining recognition in key foreign markets. This international success paved the way for steady growth, driven by the pursuit of quality and respect for winemaking traditions.

CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI

In the 1960s, with the third generation and a second Luigi at the helm, the family chose Castellina in Chianti - in the heart of Tuscany and Chianti Classico - as the focal point of its business. Production, guided by quality and agronomic experimentation, consolidated the company’s reputation.

With the arrival of the fourth generation, now represented by Andrea Cecchi, the company embarked on a path of development in areas with a strong winemaking tradition in Tuscany and Umbria, seeking the most authentic territorial expressions of quality and the ideal balance between legacy, experimentation and sustainability.

Each estate represents a step in the Cecchi family’s pursuit of excellence, where vineyard care, clone selection and attention to terroir give rise to wines with a unique character—elegant and faithful to Tuscan and Umbrian tradition.
