The 2022 vintage saw a slightly delayed budbreak due to a cold winter, followed, however, by a spring with above-average temperatures, which allowed the growing season to get back on track. The hot, dry summer brought rain at the end of August, ensuring optimal ripening of the grapes.
La Mora Merlot from the Maremma embodies all the characteristics of the grape variety and the terroir from which it originates: an intense, vibrant, deep purple color. The varietal character shines through, balanced by a complex fruit profile. The fine, velvety tannins lend the wine a smooth texture.
Pairs well with hearty pasta dishes, grilled or roasted red and white meats, cured meats, and medium-aged cheeses.
