The 2021 growing season was marked by a generally mild winter, with temperatures rarely dropping below freezing. Rainfall was also scarce and only increased toward the end of the winter season. From a phenological standpoint, since plant activity began early, pruning was delayed to slow down bud break. This ensured the protection of the buds when temperatures dropped significantly in April. May saw some rain, which helped replenish water reserves. June and July were generally hot and dry, with rains in late August lowering temperatures and allowing for slow, optimal ripening.
Brunello di Montalcino Cecchi has a ruby red color with garnet highlights. On the nose, fresh citrus notes of blood orange and plum blend with balsamic and lightly toasty aromas. On the palate, it is harmonious and enveloping.
Perfect with grilled or braised red meats, game, hearty pasta dishes with meat sauce, traditional Tuscan cuisine, and aged cheeses. Also excellent with dishes featuring porcini mushrooms and truffles.
